Signs I Like

There's something creepy about this guy, I think it's either the smile or the hair.
I wonder if someone was going around painting pictures of George Papandreou and then someone else came along and put a slash over it?
Sometimes graffiti has a message, sometimes it's just beautiful, other times it just baffles me.
So tempting... just a peek.

Foot Prints?

While walking down the street, Allison and I discovered this set of foot prints randomly placed on the corner.  We figured that they had to be there for a reason.  So I stepped on them and waited for whatever great thing I was supposed to see.  I waited 10 minutes and then I realized it.  Standing on these footprints you can learn exactly how long you'll wait for nothing to happen.

One of the projects  I'm working on right now has, what I believe, to be one of the smallest life drawing models ever.

My Knowledge Of Hip Hop

Does the fact that I know every song these guys perform make me a nerd or a cool guy?

Signs I Like

I'm starting to notice that I now consider graffiti to be a "sign" on this blog.  I'm OK with that, I consider them to be the signs of the every-man.
I like this blind mans shoes.

Cool Space Video

This is apparently footage of the earth from a satelite leaving for a great journey in the outer cosmos.  This video makes me feel really small and insignificant...

This feeling can best be described by this song.

Fine Dinning?

I came across this advertisement promoting a fine cooking school here in Athens.  The poster has pictures of sushi type food and fancy dressed chefs in a big kitchen.
However upon closer inspection I saw that the chef in the front is decorating a cake.  You'd think that maybe he'd be adding some kind of fancy flower or writing some beautiful message, but no.  Instead he appears to be plagiarizing cartoon characters.

A Bathroom With a View

Well the view wasn't from the bathroom itself, but it was in a restaurant that had a spectacular view.

Gummy Bear Art

I'm working on a gummy bear themed piece right now.  It's still in the early stages but I hope it works out the way I'm imagining it.

Signs I Like

Nothing says a night of entertainment like a wild and out of control strange man screaming and jumping a lot.
I have a new love for the names given to underwear stores.  I just have a problem taking too many pictures of these signs.  I expect this may be the way I get myself arrested for the first time.
Clever us of the "P" for "Parking".

Naked Mannequins Covering Stuff

I found these two naked mannequins and I'm not sure what they're supposed to be doing.  It looks like they're ashamed of their nudity, and that's a good thing.  Not that I'm offended by nudity, for the most part.  I just think naked manikins are creepy.

Train Saint

On a recent trip to Thessaloniki I came across a most interesting sight at the train station.  Now this train station had all kinds of normal things you might find.  A snack bar called the "Express", a store with overpriced chips, and even a fast food place that ends up looking much more appetizing than usual because of its surroundings.
But this train station also had a little church built in.  That made me wonder, is there a Patron Saint for Train Travel?  A quick look on the internet told me that this saint does not exist... yet.  But I understand that new saints are inducted all of the time, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Signs I Like

Don't sweat it Mr Blobby head guy, everything will be alright.
The sign isn't really impressive, but the idea of my nails being happy seemed pretty cool.
I can't decide if this image is disturbing or cute.
You had me at poop on a fork.

Creepy Or Educational?

All over the Athens Metro many of the stations feature some of the archaeological discoveries they've made while digging out the tunnels and stations.  Sometimes they even have them in the same place where they found them, such as this kiln that was around when Jesus was still alive.  There is however one artifact that I think could be the creepiest Subway/Metro decoration in the whole world.
At Syntagma station they have a dead guy.
Sure he's been dead a while, but it's still really creepy.

I Need a Really White Canvas

I'm working on a new piece for my "Senses" series and for it I need a really white canvas.  I decided to paint over an old painting, but even after many layers of primer and paint, it's still not white enough.  Time to pull out the big guns, and by big guns I mean, MORE PAINT!

Signs I Like

I've seen this kid plastered all over buildings in Athens, I just don't know who he is.
It's a bunch of little birdies.
I like puppets, unless they're scary puppets, then I don't like them so much.
