Best Greek Protest Sign

Amongst all of the protest signs in the main square here in Athens, I came across the smallest, but most relevant sign that I think the whole world should read.
Thank you Mr. Douglas Adams, you inspired me, and you should inspire the whole world.

Some Quick Doodles

I've been working hard on my photo series called "Senses" and it's taken up almost all of my "free drawing time".  However I managed to get a few doodles out recently and I thought I would share.
This doodle is actually a doodle and a concept sketch for an upcoming Senses piece.

I Crossed This Street So Many Times

This is Shabuya crossing in Tokyo.  It's said to be the busiest intersection in the whole world.  When I was in Tokyo I would hang around here just to see how many people crossed, it was mesmerizing.  This person, with a lot of patience and persistence actually managed to video a few seconds with nobody crossing.  That's a truly amazing feat.

Bathroom Signs Make Me Afraid

I can never understand the idea that when in some bathrooms you are not to place anything but number 1 and number 2 in the toilet.  Surely a little paper won't clog more than other things.  Fortunately as a guy I rarely have to worry about this, but I do often think about it.

Signs I Like

I'm not sure if this is some kind of viral marketing for a luggage store or just strange graffiti.
I love old hand painted billboards, why don't they make them anymore?

Crazy Rings

When I watch this video I'm first struck with the idea that "I can do that".  Then about ten seconds into the video I'm struck with the second notion "that's crazy".  Then when it really get's rolling I'm convinced what this guy's doing is impossible.

Solution to the Worlds Economic Problems

This commercial may have the answers for Greece, and the entire world's economic problems... or it might be the problem.  I'm not sure.

Water Colour Photo Idea

Here's a couple of sketches for a photography project I'm working on right now.
The idea is to incorporate other art mediums into my photography.  It involves destroying art to make better art. I hope it works.

Signs I Like

If I was in Canada or the US and I came to a video store called "Blue Club Video" my first and only instinct would be that it is a place that offers "Adult" movies.  Here in Greece... Not so much.
I think this tooth has some kind of green infection, good thing he's brushing.
Can you say sketchy?

A Normal Day At The Park?

Flowers blooming, sun shining, a tourist wandering, a family eating a picnic on the lawn, a really small horse eating grass.

I assure you that even in Athens this is strange.

Athens Art As Inspiration

I've been working on a few new pieces that take a great deal of inspiration from the artwork found all over Athens.
One of the reasons I loved the idea of moving here was because I knew I would find things to get my creative juices flowing.

Feeling a Little Home Sick

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook and it reminded me of home.  Not Ottawa home, but Toronto, my home town.

Most Well Hidden Public Bathroom Ever

It doesn't show from this photograph but this bathroom was the most well hidden bathroom I've ever seen in my life.  It was in a restaurant, and when I asked where it was the waitress pointed to a wall with vase.  I was a little shocked at first, but I walked towards the wall and there was a hidden corner right next to the vase.  As I got closer an opening appeared near this corner.  Next thing I knew the opening turned into a series of twists and turns and suddenly I was in the bathroom.  I'm fairly convinced that this is exactly how Harry Potter felt when he was told to walk through a wall in a train station.

Signs I Like

"You watched it! You can't un-watch it!"  (Futurama)
I love it when I don't know if I'm looking at an advertisement or just graffiti.
The smart store was closed, so I will stay stupid.

Hot Wheels Dream

I'm not one of those motor head types, I'm not into racing or modified cars or anything like that.  But when I saw this video I got so excited because it was a dream of mine to see a real live Hot Wheels track.

Most Disturbing Statue In Athens

I was walking around town collecting photographs of statues around Athens for a future project I'm working on and I came across this one.  At first you wouldn't think much of it, but if you look closely it really is rather strange.
From what I can make out, it appears to be a topples lady stabbing some young boy in the head with a plume.

Strange Bin In The Middle Of A Square

I came across this bin the other day and I can't figure out what it's for.
I assume it might be for garbage, but I'm not 100% sure.  It's not really in a place where people would dump huge amounts of garbage (it's in the middle of a fancy public square).  It looks too industrial to be a place to dump personal waste such as gum wrappers and old cans.  But it also looks too small to be able to hold that much household garbage.
Even stranger is the lever on the side.  I'm so tempted to pull it, but I'm afraid of the consequences.

Signs I Like

So you go to a store that sells fake Ed Hardy shirts, as well as a shirt with a naked lady doing strange things with Pinocchio.  With all of this you can't help but notice a Harry Potter shirt, and wonder what it's doing there.  You notice the slogan on the bottom "Harry Potter and the Half Dressed Princess", then you notice the almost naked lady in the background, and things make sense.
My friends call this the "Piggy Restuarant".  I can see why.
I'm going to keep an eye on this graffiti and see if anybody puts something after it.

Did That Building Just Change Colours?

Check out this cool lit up building, I wonder why one office is a different colour?... (two seconds later)...
What the heck, it's all different.  It looks like Modrian painting.  Can you imagine what it would be like to work a late night in this place?

I just finished the 5th art piece for my series I'm calling "Senses".  It involves a lot of rice and one tea spoon.  I'm also working on a website for this series that I hope to have up soon.
