One thing can be said about the city of Vilnius in Lithuania, and that is it's strange love of weird art. Take for example this statue of a dog wearing glasses. One can hardly call that normal.
But you can't say it's a modern art thing either, take a look at this old statue of a knight that appears to be covering his man bits.
But nothing is stranger, or even more grand, than Vilnius' tribute to rocker Frankui Zapai (or Frank Zappa).
Sure it might not seem strange on its own, but in context it's freakin' bizarre. First of all he's never actually been to Lithuania... ever. He's never written a song about Lithuania, and I'm willing to bet that if you handed him a map he might not have been able to find it.
It might have been helpful if they put up some kind of plaque to tell you why it's here. However I think in the spirit of Frank Zappa, the random weirdness of this whole thing is very appropriate.
