I've come to learn that here in Athens parking and driving take on a whole new meaning. I've honestly seen some cars triple parked on a one way street. I've seen more red lights ignored than ever before in my life. But one of the most intriguing things I've seen is a huge amount of abandon cars. I'm not sure if it's difficult to get rid of an old car or if people are just lazy, but sometimes I've seen cars that literally look like they're roting away.
Here in Greece they have these little kiosks all over town that pretty much act as convenience stores. The thing is they always have a few extra items that are above and beyond convenient. The other night I came across this kiosk with a claw game, the prizes, fake fancy watches.
Some of you might not see the brilliance in the "Corner Box Store" being on a corner. See boxes have corners too, in fact a box traditionally has 8 corners, so it's ironic... That or I'm moronic for thinking about it too much.
I love the red light intersection camera signs here in Greece. Instead of using the simple rectangle with a circle in the middle (eg [0]) to represent a camera, they go a little further. Better yet they go with an retro old fashion camera design, I guess so older folks can know what's ahead as well.
There's a dude outside my apartment juggling for spare change in the middle of the street. I've officially found something more entertaining to do then watch cartoons.
